Our instructor told us that for last year, flight attendants for our company were ranked above any other regional or mainline carrier. If you travel at all, you know that sometimes the bar really isn't that high. On my flight home from Chicago, the flight attendant on one of our competitors decided it was a good idea to say her pre-departure announcement like an auctioneer. Somehow I don't think the FAA would like that very much. Because my airline is so big on professionalism, they insist on us memorizing our announcements, even as every other airline gets to push play on the dvd player for theirs. And wow, there are more announcements than you can imagine. Six big ones that you hear on every flight, and many more for every circumstance that may present itself. Our final will consist of a written test based on all the info we've covered (80% is passing) and an oral test of the six main announcements and three more of the instructor's choosing (100% to pass).
OK, I just saw a commercial for this very Passion of the Christ-y movie called The Work and The Glory III, about John Smith and his battle for Salt Lake City. I guess Utah isn't satisfied with over-charging for diluted alcohol, they also have to make creepy propaganda movies to skeeve out the rest of the country.
Two more people were sent home today after testing, bringing our class count down to 42 from an original 46.
